BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty in connection to a shooting in Tonawanda that left another man injured, the Erie County District Attorney's Office said Friday.
Joel Brown, 45, admitted to shooting a 36-year-old man on Kenmore Avenue in Tonawanda on the afternoon of Sept. 9. The man was taken to ECMC to be treated for injuries to his hand and lower torso.
The investigation determined that the shooting was due to a dispute involving money. Brown was at large for over a week after the shooting before he turned himself in to Tonawanda police on Sept. 17.
Brown pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree attempted assault. He faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Jan. 27, 2025. He is being held without bail.
