OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A fight outside of a gas station led to a bizarre police investigation after part of a man's finger was bitten off.
Oklahoma City Police officers were called to a gas station near West Reno Avenue on Thursday evening.
Callers told police Manuel Lopez was running around the area naked.
Police said Lopez and the victim got into a fight outside of the gas station and Lopez eventually caught the victim's finger in his mouth and would not let it go.
"The man was unclothed during that altercation at some point. The suspect bit the victim's finger off," said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with OKCPD.
Police said Lopez approached the victim while naked and the victim told Lopez to leave, but he instead jumped on him.
"This was an unprovoked attack," said Quirk. "It doesn't appear that they knew each other."
The police report states Lopez and the victim were "tussling" before several people attempted to pull them apart.
It goes on to say witnesses heard the victim screaming and watched Lope bite off the top portion of the victims finger before swallowing it.
"This suspect was under the influence of some narcotics, of some kind," said Quirk.
When officers approached Lopez, he had blood around his mouth and even wiped his finger on the officer's arm leaving a "small amount of blood" on his sleeve.
Lopez was then arrested.
"He was booked into jail on complaints of assault," said Quirk.
Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released shortly after.
