Rod Stewart has had a lifetime of success as one of the best-selling artists in the world, which has afforded him quite a comfortable lifestyle in his later years. As he approaches his 80th birthday in January, Stewart is looking to offload some of his most prized possessions: his luxury Italian sports cars.
On Nov. 13, the British hitmaker took to Instagram to showcase his collection of swanky sports cars, including some shiny Lamborghinis and Ferraris, and share a disappointing update about their future.
"I am extremely fortunate and eternally grateful to be the owner of these five beautiful hybrid sports cars, which, in my opinion, are true 'works of art,'" he said. "Unfortunately, because of the potholes on our roads, I may have to find new owners for them."
"I’ve been driving these iconic Italian cars since the '70s, and I absolutely love and adore them," he added. "This post is for my fans—thank you, as you are the sole reason I own them. And to all the trolls, don’t bother; I never read the comments."

Stewart hasn't been shy about the problems on the roads near his home. Back in 2022, he shared videos on Instagram of him fixing the potholes in the street, complete with a construction vest and a crew behind him. "I'm repairing the street where I live, because no one can be bothered to do it," he said in one video.
He went on to explain how the potholes became a problem for both himself and all kinds of other drivers. "The other day there was an ambulance with a burst tire," he said in another video. "My Ferrari can't get through here at all, so me and the boys thought we'd come and do it ourselves."

It remains unclear when or if Stewart will actually say goodbye to any of his cars. Before he gets rid of any, however, he might want to check for any damage to the wheel wells suffered over the years.
