Two European giants are continuing to circle over one Tottenham man even though the North London club are reportedly hesitant to green-light a move.
After waiting patiently for ten months, Radu Dragusin has finally had a run of consecutive starts for Tottenham over recent weeks due to Micky van de Ven‘s hamstring injury.
Even though the Romanian has got minutes under his belt, the speculation linking him with a return to Serie A shows no signs of slowing down as we approach the January window.
Over recent weeks, Juventus (Gazzetta dello Sport), Inter Milan (InterLive) and Napoli (The Mirror) have all been credited with an interest in signing the 22-year-old on loan.
Gianluca Di Marzio has now revealed that the Lilywhites are not willing to loan out the centre-back who they signed from Genoa at the start of this year.
However, he explained that Juve and Napoli wish to add a defender to their squad and continue to view the Tottenham man as a ‘solution’.
The journalist told TuttoMercatoWeb: “Dragusin can be a solution for both Napoli and Juventus, even if Tottenham wouldn’t want to send him out on loan. In January, players are needed that are ready and someone like him can represent a safe investment”.
While there is no question of Tottenham loaning out Dragusin, perhaps the Lilywhites can be tempted into a permanent sale of the defender for the right fee.
If Napoli were to arrive with a £40m offer, one can argue that it might be in Spurs’ interest to cash in on the Romanian international and replace him with a centre-back who is more comfortable on the ball.
However, given that Dragusin was a Postecoglou signing, it is unlikely that the club would give up on the centre-back so swiftly.
