Former Spurs manager, Harry Redknapp has offered his prediction for Tottenham vs Ipswich in the Premier League this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur take on Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town on Saturday and a win for Spurs would see them enter the top four in the table for the first time this season, if other results go their way.
Although Spurs were defeated as they produced a lacklustre performance in the Europa League against Galatasaray, they are a force to be reckoned with at home, only dropping points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season against Arsenal.
And despite struggling with injuries, including a much-weakened backline, Spurs will fancy their chances against winless Ipswich, as they top the league’s scoring charts, while Ipswich have the second worst defence in the top flight (Premier League).
Redknapp believes Ipswich will be no match for Tottenham and has named the Spurs man who he thinks will be key to their victory.
Speaking to BetVictor, he said: “Tottenham were superb in that second half against Aston Villa, that would been a bad, bad game to lose. Another three points and this side are right back in the race for the top four and will have some real momentum on their side.
“Ipswich seem to be conceding late goals every week. That’s not a coincidence, I don’t know if it’s the pressure of trying to get a first win, but it must be driving the fans mad.
“I can only see a routine Spurs win.
And Redknapp is expecting big things from the Tottenham striker with three goals in his last three appearances, who he says is the player to watch.
He continued, “I thought Dominic Solanke was superb last week. He seems to really suit this side and if he can keep this form up, Spurs will win a lot of games!”
Prediction: Tottenham 3-0 Ipswich
Spurs dropped what was arguably their worst performance of the season against the champions of Turkey, but they did not play a first team and with wins in their previous matches in the competition, it was probably the Lilywhites’ least important fixture this season.
They have delivered some shocking displays away from home, but Spurs look strong at N17 and blew away a top side with an unbelievable second half against Aston Villa.
After ending their streak of three losses by getting a point against Leicester City, Ipswich had better be ready to taste defeat once more.
