Golden State made a statement on Wednesday night after defeating the defending champion Boston Celtics, 118-112. The performance was especially impressive as the Warriors effectively disrupted one of the league’s top offensive units, keeping Boston from establishing a rhythm against their aggressive defensive scheme.

The Warriors defense set the tone w/ their aggressive traps against the Celtics, who made the adjustments to storm back and rally.
Steve Kerr pushed the right buttons to help them hold on to a win.

On the offensive side, Steph Curry led the charge with a team-high 27 points, including four three-pointers. He played a season-high 34 minutes against the Celtics and looked to be fully recovered from the ankle injury that forced him to miss three games a week ago.

Tonight, the Warriors face another formidable test as they get set to take on the undefeated Cavaliers. While Golden State enters the matchup on a five-game winning streak with an impressive 7-1 record, Cleveland is 9-0, representing the team’s best start to the regular season in franchise history.
The Cavaliers, under former Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson, are arguably the best offensive team in the league thus far. They lead the NBA with 123.2 points per game and rank first in offensive rating, largely attributed to their success shooting the ball at a very high level. They lead the league in field goal percentage at 52% and place second in three-point shooting percentage at 42.1%.
Fortunately, Golden State has established itself as one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Their wing depth provides consistent length and athleticism, crucial for closing out and contesting opposing shooters. The Warriors’ perimeter defense has limited opponents to a league-best 29.5% from three-point range, a strength they’ll need to rely on heavily against the Cavaliers’ red-hot shooting.
