Katie Holmes seemingly can’t get enough Mary Jane velvet flats. The “Dawson’s Creek” alum has been spotted in the style countless times in the past year and appears to have a new favorite pair in a striking shade of red.
Hitting the streets of New York City yesterday, Holmes pounded the pavement in an Italian-made style from London-based footwear label Le Monde Beryl. The vibrant, berry-red flats are crafted from cotton velveteen with silky grosgrain piping and feature a delicate adjustable strap with a buckle closure. Retailing at $530 on nordstrom.com, they’re complete with cushioned calfskin leather insoles.
On the brand’s website, the elegant Mary Jane flats are offered in nine other colorways, including classic black, white, eucalyptus green, blush pink, brick, and blue. The same style is also offered in a variety of other materials such as mesh, lambskin leather, patent leather, and satin. They’re even available in handwoven goatskin and zebra print calf hair iterations.
As for the rest of her outfit, the “Alone Together” actress wore a light pink button down shirt over a simple white tee and boyfriend jeans. She tied things together with tortoiseshell-rimmed aviator sunglasses and Khaite’s chestnut brown, textured-leather Amelia tote bag. The medium sized carryall, which goes for $2,400, has been her go-to lately.
Prior to stepping out in Le Monde Beryl’s Mary Janes recently, Holmes was regularly reaching for Vibi Venezia’s version in blue. The shoes are priced quite a bit lower at just $150 on bergdorfgoodman.com. The fashion-forward star is a huge fan of Mary Jane ballet flats and has also been seen in similar styles from Italian brand Yuni Buffa, Franco Sarto, Miu Miu, and Tory Burch.
Over the years, Holmes has become well-known for her effortlessly chic street style. She’s often seen strutting around New York City in cool designer duds as if the streets were her personal runway. Some of her other favorite brands for daily wear include Rachel Comey, A.P.C., Mansur Gavriel, and Chanel. On the more accessible end, she’s been seen in Banana Republic, Adidas, and New Balance.
