Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) will address the results of the 2024 election and his path forward in remarks in his home state Friday.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ called the election for President-elect Trump and his running mate Sen. JD Vance (R) early Wednesday. Vice President Harris conceded the race to her GOP rival Thursday afternoon, encouraging a peaceful transfer of power.
"While the outcome is not what we wanted, I am grateful to the millions of Americans who joined our campaign and stood up for our greatest ideals: decency, compassion, and love of our neighbor," Walz wrote on social platform X after the race was called. "Now more than ever, we need you to continue fighting for those values and the country we all love."
Walz also attended Harris's concession speech at Howard University.
His remarks are expected to begin around 3:30 p.m. EST.
