1. Large fire at Albany Therapeutic Riding Center

A large fire broke out at the Albany Therapeutic Riding Center in Altamont Thursday, evening. The fire was contained to a barn located behind house near the backside of the property.

2. Former assembly candidate charged with petit larceny in alleged mail theft case

A former candidate for New York State Assembly is facing a criminal charge for allegedly stealing mail. Joe Mastroianni turned himself in to Scotia police on Thursday and was issued an appearance ticket for one count of petit larceny.

3. Nauman Hussain appeal denied in Schoharie County limo crash case

According to the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, Nauman Hussain, the Schoharie limo crash driver, will remain in prison after the court denied his bid to overturn his conviction. The court said the sentence of five to 15 years “reflects the grievous harm caused by his recklessness and his callousness.”

4. 3 charged in death of Liam Payne: officials

Following an extensive investigation, authorities in Argentina say three people have been charged in connection with the October death of pop singer and former One Direction band member Liam Payne. Authorities have not yet named the suspects but said one accompanied Payne “on a daily basis during his stay.” Another is a hotel employee “who must answer for two proven supplies of cocaine to Liam Payne” while the third is described as “a drug supplier” accused of “two other clearly proven supplies.

5. Local brewery releasing limited edition brew in honor of veterans

A local brewery is releasing a special, limited-edition brew that was made by veterans. Adirondack Brewery is calling the blonde IPA DD-214. It’s named after the certificate of release military members receive when they are released from active duty.
