Buying in on Daniel Jones (?!), pumping up Jim Harbaugh and the best bets of Week 10

The Chicago Bears, it seems, are Bears-ing.

A 4-2 start before the team’s bye has since given way to a two-game skid and a truckload of familiar disappointment. Head coach Matt Eberflus has transformed an offense loaded with playmakers into a rancid stew of stale routes and unimaginative game plans.

This has been a real bummer for bettors who expected Caleb Williams’s October shine-up to last. Instead, the first overall pick of last spring’s draft has backslid and the Bears’ torture of Chicago continued.

Those losses were bad for me as a bettor, but great for our NFL betting expert. My Bears disappointments opened the door for the Rhode Island Scumbag to pull even in our season-long picks competition. Except, whoops, he bet on the Denver Broncos in a blowout loss and a Buffalo Bills team that didn’t win by enough.

That left last week unprofitable and, honestly, pretty boring. Let’s see what the best bets are for Week 10. All Scumbag analysis is in blockquotes. My non-Scumbag picks follow.

Last week was not kind to the Rhode Island Scumbag, with only the reliable Washington Commanders coming through. They play the Steelers this week, so we are going to stay away from that unpredictable matchup, and attempt to bully some underdogs. Christian’s scatter shot strategy worked for him last week [Ed. note: Did it?], so unfortunately I find myself falling behind in our competition. Time to fire in five units on four bets that could pay pay off nicely, or backfire spectacularly.
