Kelsea Ballerini Talks Acting Debut on 'Doctor Odyssey,' Says She Was Worried She Would Suck

Kelsea Ballerini makes her acting debut on tonight’s (November 7) new episode of Doctor Odyssey!

The 31-year-old “Cowboys Cry Too” singer guests stars on the episode titled “I Always Cry at Weddings” as a bridezilla.

In the episode, “when a wealthy family charters The Odyssey for a weeklong wedding cruise, all eyes are on the “bridezilla” as she wreaks havoc on board. Amid the chaos, love and lust manage to find their way through the air with sparks flying among the crew.”

Ahead of the episode, Kelsea opened up about taking on the role and being nervous before filming.

“[Acting] was one of the things that I was like, ‘Run toward the things that scare you!’” she told Women’s Health. “What if I suck on TV? Then you know what I do? I’ll go put on my glitter and go back onstage. That’s always going to be home base.”

She also told People that she was “timid” ahead of being on set, as this is her “first time ever trying the acting hat on.”

“I wasn’t reserved on the fact that it was my first time. So I asked a lot of questions and I feel like I learned so much, and I really hope that I did the character and the show proud.”

Kelsea even asked boyfriend Chase Stokes how he felt about her going into acting. They even ran lines together!

“I’ve always called acting his world, and so whenever I was asking him questions about this opportunity, I was like, ‘What about this in your world?’” the singer shared. “And he was like, ‘Hey, it’s just a world. I’m a part of it and now you’re a part of it. It’s not my world.’”

“By the end of the conversation, I was like, ‘OK, so you’ll run the scene with me?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it,’” she added.
