The United Nations has warned about the deadly living conditions of Palestinians in northern Gaza and called for an end to this “crime.”
According to Anadolu Agency on Thursday, November 7, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that northern Gaza is under a “brutal” blockade by Israel.
In a press conference, Dujarric said, “Civilians [in Gaza] are starving to death while the world watches. These crimes must stop.”
He added, “For the past month, northern Gaza has been subjected to an almost complete, brutal blockade.”
The UN spokesperson highlighted that “living conditions in northern Gaza are deadly” and urged the global community to prevent further crimes in Gaza.
Dujarric emphasized that Israel’s ground operations have left Palestinians without essential survival needs.
According to him, around 1,000 Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem have been destroyed this year alone.
The UN’s call for action underscores the urgent need for humanitarian intervention in Gaza, where civilians are facing starvation and a dire lack of resources amid ongoing conflict.
The international community is urged to address the escalating crisis in Gaza, as continued inaction could lead to further human suffering and destabilization in the region.
