The son of seven-year NBA player Jarvis Hayes have been standing out during their high school play.
When it comes to the current era of basketball, sons of former NBA players have been taking the spotlight, headlined by Bronny James, the son of LeBron James who was just taken with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
That’s not where the line ends though, as recruits such as Kiyan Anthony, the son of Carmelo Anthony and a four-star in the Class of 2025, have also gotten in the headlines, not only for their namesake, but also their talent.
While they’re still a few years away, two up-and-coming sons of a former NBA veteran are slowly taking over the national spotlight in high school basketball.
Meet Jarvis and Myles Hayes, the sons of seven-year NBA player Jarvis Hayes, who have started to stand out on the national level, despite being in the Class of 2027 and 2028, respectively.
Jarvis Jr. began to make waves this summer, playing well at the Scholastic Live Period, where his plus frame and athleticism stood out, as the sophomore was able to show off his knack for scoring the basketball.
He continued to play well at the Under Armour Association Finals, despite playing a higher age group, and seems to be a prospect that could very well start to fully come together as his frame grows, given his plus shooting and athleticism at a young age already.

Myles Hayes has also flashed with an intriguing frame and good athleticism, which should only continue to get better as the 2028 recruit grows into his body.
Both players were invited to the Team USA Junior National Team Minicamp, being 1 of 22 players to earn the invite in their respective age groups.
Jarvis, who stands at 6’5”, 160 pounds, has an offer list that has slowly started to grow, as Georgia State was the first to extend one before Tulane, South Carolina State, Morehead State, Xavier and Georgia followed through. Missouri was his latest offer just two weeks ago, adding to a solid list ahead of his sophomore season.

Attending Woodward Academy in Georgia, Jarvis Hayes scored 5.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in just 9.5 minutes of action over 31 contests as a freshman in 2023, while shooting 47 percent from the field and 34 percent from three.
Both brothers are expected to attend Woodward Academy this fall, with Jarvis being a sophomore and Myles being a freshman.
The younger Myles just recently picked up his first two offers, earning scholarships from both Xavier and Missouri two weeks ago.
He was able to show off his skills at Team USA’s minicamp, with his jumper and athleticism standing out. But, Myles was also able to use his explosiveness to get near the rim at times, showing his potential as an overall player as he grows more into his frame.
Earlier in the summer, MadeHoops created a list of their top 10 recruits in the Class of 2028, and Hayes emerged as the No. 9 prospect.
“Fluid athleticism, off-ball instincts, NBA lineage, and long-term outlook as one of the youngest in the class,” the account wrote.
There’s still a long way to go for both recruits, but the sons of Jarvis Hayes have slowly begun to put themselves on the map, showcasing the potential that should provide them ample opportunities at the next level.
