Manhattan murder suspect connected to killing in North Carolina
MANHATTAN (KSNT) – 27 News has uncovered new information about a Little Apple murder suspect's criminal history.
Antwajuane J. McNeil of Ogden was arrested in late October in connection to a recent murder case out of Manhattan. North Carolina officials say McNeil killed and robbed a truck driver in the state back in 2011. He was released in 2017.
Police say McNeil was homeless at the time of the North Carolina killing. He is set to appear in court for the Manhattan case in two weeks.
McNeil's arrest in the Little Apple followed a shooting reported on Oct. 19 in the 700 block of North Fourth Street in Manhattan. Officers responding to the scene found a man, later identified as 58-year-old Don Stovall, who was later declared dead.
Police initially arrested McNeil following the execution of a search warrant in the 300 block of Eighth Street in Ogden on Oct. 24. McNeil was arrested on the following charges:
- Murder in the first degree.
- Kidnapping.
- Murder in the first degree; premeditated.
- Aggravated assault; use of a deadly weapon.
- Aggravated burglary.
- Criminal discharge of a firearm in an occupied dwelling with great bodily harm.
- Interference with law enforcement.
The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) also arrested another individual, Aiden S. Keener, 20, of Ogden, in connection to this case on Oct. 21. He was arrested on charges of murder in the first degree and kidnapping.
