Kamala Harris' concession speech 'left a little bit to be desired': Senior Trump adviser
A senior adviser to Donald Trump said Tuesday that while he sympathized with what Vice President Kamala Harris is “going through," he was disappointed that her concession speech didn’t include a pledge to work with the president-elect to achieve his “mandate for change.”
“This is a tough speech to give, I mean I can definitely feel for Kamala Harris and what she’s going through,” Jason Miller said on Fox News shortly after Harris delivered a powerful concession speech in Washington, D.C.
The longtime Trump adviser confirmed Harris and Trump had a “very positive conversation” earlier in the day, and added: “And I guess this is where I felt Kamala Harris’ speech left a little bit to be desired.”
“There was the initial comment with helping with transition, but what I would’ve liked to have heard is something about working together with President Trump for how we deal with some of the crises that are impacting our country right now,” Miller told the Fox News anchors, noting that the economy, border issues and international threats were at the top of Trump’s agenda.

“And instead, I felt like this sounded like someone who wanted to set their political future very much on the front burner, so people knew that she was going to be back in politics,” he said. “This speech may have been Kamala Harris’ moment, but this is President Trump’s time.”
Miller continued by telling viewers that it was clear that Trump won a second term with an “overwhelming mandate for change,” which the former president would deliver on.
“And I wish that there’d be more from Kamala Harris to say that she wanted to work with President Trump to accomplish that,” he said.
Miller added at the end of his Fox News appearance that Trump would address the border and economy on day one of his new administration. But, according to Miller, issues like the southern border and Iran “can’t wait until he gets sworn in.”
“There are different things that President Trump can do simply by being the president-elect,” he said.
