Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is holding a news conference Wednesday morning, just hours after the GOP was projected to flip the upper chamber.
Republicans enjoyed a strong night in the battle for the majority, winning control of the Senate and ending the night with chances of running up the score.
The victories come as a welcome relief to the right after two disappointing election cycles. They lost two runoff elections in Georgia to lose their majority in 2020 and failed to win back the majority in 2022 despite early projections.
The presser also comes after former President Trump secured a second term.
McConnell announced earlier this year that he would step down from leadership in the next term. The high-stakes race is now even more so, as it is now a race for the next majority leader.
The presser is expected to begin at 11:30 a.m. EST.
