1574 players have registered for the mega auctions of the 2025 season of Indian Premier League (IPL), set to be held in Saudi Arabia. This information has been confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Within the registered 1574 players, 1165 players are from India itself.
A maximum of 204 players will be sold in the mega auctions. This is because each team can only assemble a total of up to 25 players, including no more than 8 foreign players. A total of 46 players have already been taken by the franchises.
In a few days, BCCI is going to make the information public about the complete list of players which will be available to buy, along with all the necessary information on which set they will be along with their price.
For reference, only 333 players out of the 1166 made it to the final list for the auctions last year. Before that, in the 2023 edition of the IPL, 600 players out of 1214 made it to the auctions.
