Travis and Sosie Bacon are about to be one degree of separation away from their father.
Spouses Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are set to direct themselves and their children in a horror comedy for Dark Castle Entertainment that’s being shopped to buyers at the American Film Market event, according to Variety.
The film, accurately and amusingly titled “Family Movie,” is about a family of horror filmmakers whose latest low-budget project spirals out of control when a dead body is discovered on set. But the show must go on, and the only way to save the movie is to cover up the murder and keep going, by any means necessary. “Premature” writer-director Dan Beers wrote the script, and the Bacons are producing along with Dark Castle’s Norman Golightly.
“There may not be a more compelling Hollywood family than the Bacons,” Golightly said in a statement to Variety. “We can’t wait to bring their unique dynamic to the screen and then wildly turn it on its head for audiences.”
Bacon and Sedgwick, who have been married since 1988, are one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples. They have previously worked together in several films over the years, including “Murder in the First,” “The Woodsman,” and “Loverboy.” Sedgwick is an Emmy winner for her performance on the TNT crime drama “The Closer.” Bacon’s most recent film credits include the horror film “Maxxxine” and the action comedy “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.” Sedgwick’s recent credits include the comedy film “Bad Shabbos” and the teen drama series “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
Travis Bacon is primarily a composer, and provided the score for his mother’s 2022 directorial effort “Space Oddity.” Sosie Bacon is an actress best known for her performances in the horror film “Smile” and the TV dramas “Mare of Easttown” and “13 Reasons Why.”
