Man City are optimistic about their chances of signing one of Tottenham’s most consistent players as the North London club have not ruled out a sale.
Pedro Porro was written off by many after his struggles during his first six months at Tottenham but since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou last year, the Spaniard has gone from strength to strength.
The 25-year-old has arguably been the best right-back on show in the Premier League so far this season and he is now thought to be attracting interest from some heavy hitters.
It has now been reported by GiveMeSport that Manchester City are continuing to keep an eye on the right-back, who was formerly part of their academy.
The report explains that even though the Premier League champions are happy with Rico Lewis’ development, they want to sign a more experienced player to replace Kyle Walker.
Porro has caught their attention, with Pep Guardiola’s men currently exploring if they can land the Tottenham star.
It is explained that Spurs have not ruled out a sale of the former Sporting Lisbon man and the North London club’s stance has resulted in City ‘remaining optimistic’.
GiveMeSport say that City might have to deal with competition from Real Madrid for Porro, and might even have to pay more than the La Liga giants for the player.
This is because Spurs are eager to keep the full-back at the club and they would demand a premium to sell him to another Premier League side.
It is alleged that the Manchester club would have to pay £80m to prise Porro away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
