PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities are searching for a missing inmate after Clark County Jail Services unintentionally released a man who was being transported to Oregon to serve the rest of his time on Monday, Oct. 28.
Maurice Xavier Haynes is still at large as of Monday, Nov. 4. Officials with Clark County said he had just finished serving his time for second-degree theft before he was set to serve another 15-month sentence in Oregon for first-degree criminal mischief.
Authorities describe Maynes as “a 27-year-old black male, 6’1” inches tall, approximately 170 pounds with a tattoo on his right forearm that reads, ‘Markisha.’”
Anyone with information about Maynes is encouraged to contact police.
