NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- New York City Public Schools students will not have school on Tuesday for the 2024 general election.
Election Day is Tuesday, and the polls will be open in New York City from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Students will get the day off school.
Though many students aren't old enough to vote, students age 17 and older can work as student poll workers to earn $250 for a day of work.
Election Day will mean changes to other municipal services, like trash pickup and parking. There will be no trash pickup Tuesday in New York City, and alternate side parking rules are suspended.
City and state courts and city government offices will be closed Tuesday, but the DMV and Federal offices will remain open. Public libraries will be open on Election Day.
