GLENDALE, Ariz. — Injuries are piling up for the Bears, and now they won't have star pass rusher Montez Sweat.
Sweat is inactive Sunday against the Cardinals after missing most of the week of practice with a shin injury and being labeled questionable for the game. He got cut on his shin by a Commanders player's cleat last week and practiced only on Thursday.
The Bears also missed nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon for the Commanders game and most of the practice week because of a hamstring injury he suffered in London against the Jaguars and left guard Teven Jenkins (knee) after he got hurt against the Commanders. Neither went through a full practice this week, though both seemed Friday like they were trending toward playing.
The Bears likely will go with a starting offensive line of left tackle Larry Borom, left guard Jenkins, center Coleman Shelton, right guard Matt Pryor and right tackle Darnell Wright.
Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson is active one week after an embarrassing error against the Commanders, but a source said he will not start.
Here are the Bears' inactives vs. the Cardinals:
RB Khalil Herbert
LT Braxton Jones (knee)
OT Kiran Amegadjie (calf)
DT Byron Cowart
DE Montez Sweat (shin)
CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring)
S Jaquan Brisker (concussion)
The Cardinals will be without defensive lineman Darius Robinson (calf) and offensive tackle Jonah Williams (knee).
