One of England’s still-unspoiled villages has its own chocolate factory and free-roaming sheep

A TINY village in the UK is said to be one of the last to remain unspoiled – with very quaint houses and attractions.

Hutton-Le-Hole, in the Yorkshire Moors, is home to just 400 locals.

It has been named one of Yorkshire‘s “best looking villages” by Lonely Planet, as well as one of the UK’s prettiest by Conde Nast Traveller.

Jane Austen fans will recognise it, having featured in the Death Comes To Pemberley BBC drama.

In the summer, locals sit on the green right in the middle, with the sloped grass leading into the river to cool off.

But the village is just as beautiful in autumn with the trees turning bright orange.

There are lots of stores to pop into as well escape the chill.

The Chocolate Factory, which opened 20 years ago, is one of the top attractions with freshly made treats

There is also the retro Ryedale Folk Museum, which looks at life through the ages with 40,000 artifacts and props.

There is afternoon tea at the Forge Tea Rooms, cakes and snacks at The Old School House Bakery or a full meal with a pint at the pub Crown Inn.

Sarah Coupland, 46, who runs the bakery, raved about Hutton-Le-Hole.

She said: “Its an amazing village and great community where everyone knows each other.

“The local pub opens every Christmas morning so the residents can get together and wish each other a Happy Christmas.”

The Crown owner Duncan Harper backed this up, praising the landscape.

He said: “It’s a beautiful place to work, a beautiful village and a beautiful setting.

But even just roaming around the village is worth it, with thatched cottages and rolling fields.

Most of the sheep are free-roaming, so expect to see a few munching on the grass.

Despite being small, there are a number of places you can stay.

Don’t expect any chains in the village either[/caption]

The Crown Inn pub has three double rooms, each with their own kitchen and bathroom.

Or you can stay at The Barn Guesthouse with six rooms, along with its own tearoom and breakfast onsite.

Otherwise there are smaller B&Bs and house rentals, along with an adults-only caravan site.

In the nearby area there is alto the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, as well as the Flamingo Land theme park.

It takes around five hours to get to Hutton-Le-Hole from London, either by car or train.

While Hutton-Le-Hole might be the prettiest village in Yorkshire, one Sun writer grew up in it’s prettiest town.

The Sun’s Katrina Turrill spent her childhood in Knaresborough – here’s why she thinks it a ‘northern gem’.

Otherwise here are your favourite underrated places in Yorkshire, as revealed by Sun readers.
