DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS TONIGHT
We turn the clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. tonight, returning to Standard Time, which means sunrise will be a little past 7 a.m. on Sunday, but sunset occurs close to 5:30 in the evening.
High pressure over the Northeast will provide sunny skies and crisp autumn weather through the weekend. Temperatures will top out near 60 degrees, after a cool morning in the upper 30s, with a light northeast flow. Tonight, it will be chilly again, with morning readings in the mid- to upper 30s.
Low pressure in the Plains will lift a warm front northward that will begin a warming trend Sunday, as temperatures reach the upper 60s.
Some clouds will move in early in the week, but the trend toward unseasonably warm weather will continue in a southwesterly flow Monday and Tuesday, with generally dry conditions. Afternoon temperatures will range from 75 to 80 degrees, between 15 and 20 degrees above normal for early November.
Election Day Tuesday will be breezy and warm, with record-challenging afternoon readings in the upper 70s. A cold front trailing low pressure in the Upper Midwest will bring showers after sunset that will linger into early Wednesday. Cooler and dry weather will return the second half of the week, although still a little above average in temperatures.
