The X Lampe Felure is a minimalist table lamp by the Paris-based art and design practice, Duen Studio. As a part of the studio’s COLLECTION-X series, inspired by avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich’s use of simple shapes to evoke emotion, X Lampe Felure uses the letter “X” to experiment with form, color, and material.
Merging artistic concepts with sculptural design, X Lampe Felure sees “X” distorted as an organic form — an otherwise rigid, stainless steel body is transformed into a curvaceous lamp — where the metal legs of the lamp appear as if they are peeling away to reveal soft, marble bulbs.
X Lampe Felure showcases Duen Studio’s ability to innovate Malevich’s principles of abstraction and minimalism, while simultaneously blurring the line between art and design to create thought-provoking, functional everyday objects.
