Oh I understand the theme of this thread- my point is that people should stop moaning.

And if people can, in their own mind, justify buying tickets just to add to their away game total, well, so be it.

In fact, what’s just as bad is people buying a ticket, attending the game and then standing in the concourse for most of the game …I saw this at Charlton in October!

I agree that both those cases are reasonably equivalent but the club aren't going to follow each fan into the stands and check they are watching a certain % of the match but for the reason they have stated they have decided to make some checks at the gate prior to k.o.

Are the club really making these new collection arrangements just to counter a 'handful' playing the system? Are the club hoping to only have to have this running for the immediate short term while allocations are on average 40-50% lower than we've become accustomed to receiving? Seems OTT to me. I still don't think they'd go to these lengths if they didn't have something more substantial in mind for the future as regards at least tweaking the system.

It is quite reasonable for people to make the case for a continuation of the current system whether it suits them as an individual or whether it just seems the most straightforward fair way to do things. I think it would also be reasonable if the club had a proper look at the whole system and gave it an overhaul if they felt there was a better way to ensure fairness or a wider spread of Blues fans having access to away tickets and/or generate increased revenue for the club re: away/third shirt merchandise etc... And for those in Platty Plus who have apparently stated they prefer smaller allocations i think there is an issue when we go from mostly small allocations to the occasional very big allocation - the mood in those crowds does differ quite a bit but that's characterised Blues away crowds for many years which is why I thought they were trying to work with provincial supporters groups in various areas of the country to boost sales at e.g. Tuesday nights at Boro/Blackburn
