New Delhi: India’s star spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin was in good touch on day 2 of India vs. New Zealand third Test match. The spinner helped India get rid of in-form Rachin Ravindra on Saturday, November 2. As a result, the veteran spinner fooled Rachin Ravindra, as the Kiwi batter departed for just four runs in the second innings after managing five in the first innings.

Talking about the dismissal, the Kiwi batter was dismissed in the 14th over of New Zealand’s second innings. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a short-length delivery and Rachin Ravindra stepped out for a big shot but missed it altogether. The ball spun past the outside edge and the wicketkeepr Rishabh Pant gathered the ball before dislodging the sumps in a flash. Interestingly, it was Ashwin’s wicket of the Test match.

Thw Kiwis batter Rachin Ravindra was furious with himself after the dismissal as it was a needless shot and his wicket has now put New Zealand in a spot of trouble. At the time of writing this article, the Kiwis are 50/3 and lead by just 22 runs.

Ravindra, who started the series on a high, is going through a slump as he has scored just 5 and four in the two innings at Wankhede Stadium.

It is worth noting that the visitors have already clinched the series 2-0, but this dead rubber match is also crucial as India are eyeing a spot in the WTC finals.
