It's now been one year since the world lost Friends star Matthew Perry, who died on Oct. 29, 2023, when he was found unresponsive in the hot tub at his Los Angeles home after illegally taking ketamine. And on Monday, his longtime friend and former costar Jennifer Aniston remembered Perry in a sweet tribute.
"One year," Aniston captioned the post, along with a mending-heart emoji and dove emoji. She also tagged the Matthew Perry Foundation, which was established after the actor's death to support people suffering from addiction.
The carousel featured four images: a grainy black and white throwback of the pair goofing around, following an image from the Friends set in which Perry could be seen sweetly kissing Aniston on the forehead. The final two images show the cast of the hit NBC series in a huddle together, and one photo of Perry laughing.
Following Perry's passing, Aniston initially penned a heartfelt post in his memory, writing that she and their fellow cast members loved him deeply, and that he "was such a part of our DNA."
"We were always the six of us," the 55-year-old wrote last November. "This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be."
Five people have since been charged in Perry's death, including his live-in personal assistant, two California doctors, an alleged drug dealer known as the "ketamine queen," and an alleged narcotics distributor. All five have pled guilty or have agreed to plead guilty, including former doctor Mark Chavez, 54, who is facing up to 10 years in prison and will be sentenced next spring.
