CHURCH POINT, La. (KLFY) -- Local entertainer Wayne Toups gave his fans a pre-Halloween scare Sunday, when he was hospitalized during a show in Church Point.
According to a post on his official Facebook page, Toups had to leave the concert he was playing at the Cajun's Event Center in Church Point.
"During his show, Wayne Toups wasn’t feeling his best and ended up having to take an ambulance to the ER," the post reads. "Turns out it was just a case of severe dehydration, and thankfully he’s doing great now and resting up!"
Toups, 66, has earned numerous awards and honors throughout his career including Offbeat Magazine Album of the Year. He is a member of the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, Gulf Coast Hall of Fame and Cajun French Music Hall of Fame and is a Grammy Award winner for his album "The Band Courtbouillon."
