Active weather continues throughout Oregon on Monday

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — With numerous isolated thunderstorms across the PNW on Sunday afternoon, we saw lightning up and down the Oregon coast, while SE Portland saw hail as thunderstorms popped up throughout the coast and Willamette Valley on Sunday.

We're going to continue to see that trend of active weather come Monday.

We keep with the chance of thunderstorms throughout most of the Oregon coast and Willamette Valley for Monday afternoon and evening. Along with the t-storm chance, the forecast also calls for scattered showers and mostly cloudy conditions in the Portland metro area as daytime highs drop into the upper 50s.

As for what we could see with these isolated thunderstorms that are possible across much of the valley, there could be lightning, heavy downpours at times and even small hail.

We are looking at a few dry days ahead, though, including Tuesday and next weekend.

Snow levels will fall to 4,500 feet to start the week with the chance for light accumulating snowfall across Santiam and Willamette Passes as early as Monday night and Tuesday morning.

By mid-week, the metro area will see daytime highs cool into the low-50s. The wet weather is expected to impact trick-or-treaters on Halloween with our next system arriving on Wednesday.

Not only are numerous rain showers in the forecast for Halloween on Thursday, but it's also going to be pretty cool out there.

The highs around Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington on Thursday are looking to be below normal in the low-50s.

So, it'll be important to add layers and rain gear to the kiddos' costumes this year.

Or maybe take your kids out in their costumes to get photos outside on Tuesday, since PDX is looking to be partly cloudy and dry Tuesday -- just an idea!
