DEAR DEIDRE: NO-STRINGS sex with a guy at work was working well at first but now I’m feeling used.

We were due to meet up last weekend but he had “something else on” and cancelled at the last minute.

I’m 26 and he’s 29. We’ve worked together for two years, becoming close a few months ago after we both ended long-term relationships.

We agreed that we didn’t want anything serious, we just wanted fun.

But it seems very one-sided when it comes to sex.

I always give him oral but he rarely reciprocates.

We’ve only had proper sex three times.

We agreed that the timing was wrong to get serious and we just wanted fun, for now.

I did like him and thought he was a really great guy but now I feel so uncertain.

We make plans but he keeps letting me down. I don’t want to lose him but my gut is telling me to walk away.

Am I just wasting my time?

You agreed to sex only, but it sounds like you were hoping that, in time, a relationship would develop.

He got what he wanted and is losing interest.

Be honest – this is going nowhere.

You’d be better off looking for someone who does want a relationship.

Let him know this isn’t working for you any more and you’ll be moving on.
