Indian captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed in a surprising way during India’s 2nd Day of the 1st Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. He was batting beautifully before that point, but his innings was soon broken down by New Zealand’s left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel.
During the 22nd over of India’s 2nd innings, Rohit was batting against Ajaz Patel. Patel sent a lengthed delivery towards the stumps, where Rohit attempted to defend. However, the ball had a sharp bounce and unexpectedly hit the stumps. Rohit was visibly disappointed with him being dismissed, as it occurred at an important point of the game.
Him going back to the dugout left India’s batting lineup struggling and contributed to their defeat in the match.
