ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The restaurant industry is ever-changing with restaurants opening, closing, relocating, or just doing their thing. Here’s a recap of the latest Capital Region restaurant news, October 14 to 18.
The Downtown Troy Chowderfest returned on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Local restaurants got the chance to show off their finest chowders and attendees were able to sample the chowders for $2 each before voting for their favorite at the end.
In September, Zen Asian Fusion Lounge closed at 469 State Street in Schenectady. Now, the same owners are getting ready to open Ember & Cork in the same space.

The seventh annual Saratoga Wing Off, brought to you by Discover Saratoga and its sponsors, will be returning on Saturday, October 19. The competition will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with $2 wing samples from the participating restaurants.
Tipsy Moose Tap & Tavern is now expanding into a national franchise model. The local restaurant chain has locations in Latham, Troy, and Albany.
Ferrari’s Ristorante, an Italian restaurant in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood, is celebrating 50 years of business. As a way for the business to show their appreciation for the community, they will be offering month-long specials for take-out and dine-in.
It’s a family affair at Lucca’s Delicatessen in Mechanicville. The brother-sister duo opened the deli last year to bring what they felt was missing in their hometown.
Curry Patta has returned to the Capital Region with locations in both Menands and Albany. Owner Nadia Raza previously had the restaurant in Altamont before closing at the end of 2022.
Hillary Zio has been in the wine industry since 2010 when she became a Certified Sommelier. Now, she has opened Isola Wine & Tapas in the former Dyad space at 16 Hudson Street in Kinderhook.
Colonie Restaurant Week is making a comeback this October. The event is slated for October 21 through October 27.
Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is returning this fall from Oct. 28 to Nov. 10. The week features prix fixe menus at over 130 restaurants in eight counties.
Inga’s Diner is reopening after being closed for over a year. According to the diner’s Facebook page, the restaurant will be reopening on Saturday, October 19 at 7 a.m.
La Bella Pizza of Wynantskill, located at 174 Main Avenue, has a new owner. Outgoing owner Angelo Nicoletta made the announcement in a Facebook post on Friday.
