MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace highlights 'disastrous week' for Trump
At the top of her Thursday episode of "Deadline: White House," host Nicolle Wallace highlighted the Latino town hall hosted by Univision on Wednesday night, which featured largely undecided voters.
It was just another of Trump's bad appearances, Wallace pointed out.
She shared a clip of a man from the town hall who said he was a Republican and was willing to have his mind changed, but he was bothered by the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

"There was no effort to persuade," said MSNBC host Alicia Menendez. "We talk on this program about the fact that it is likely Donald Trump hit his ceiling, [and] knows he hit the ceiling. This becomes about a base turnout election or whatever we're referring to as his loyal following at this point. He makes no effort to actually reckon with any of these issues, whereas she is still in persuasion mode."
Wallace pointed out Harris's appearance on Fox News with Bret Baier was part of that continued outreach to persuadable voters.
She played another clip of shocked reactions from the crowd when Trump said there were no guns at the Capitol and that no one was killed.
"This is a very informed electorate," Wallace said. "The reason people are undecided, especially with this group, is not because they haven't been paying attention. They haven't been persuaded."
She pointed out Trump's inability to recognize that there was an opportunity to reach people in that crowd and that cameras would help deliver his message.
"I think this is a disastrous week for him," Wallace continued. "It started with the swaying."
Wallace was referring to Trump's town hall with his supporters, where he answered a handful of questions and then decided to begin playing his playlist for the remainder of the event.
"Then he was heckled and attacked at the Chicago economic meeting," she recalled, referring to Trump facing off against Bloomberg editor John Micklethwait, who fact-checked Trump tariffs and how they would impact the economy.
Wallace also pointed out that Trump had to be repeatedly brought back on topic as he bobbed and weaved in and out of unrelated issues.
"He was — 'I asked you about the dollar,' [Trump] is talking about the moon. He steers him back to the fed. I mean, it was like a, you know, we have little kids," she said. "Like, you know, pushing your kids through Costco. No, we are not getting that. Keep going. But, he is a candidate."
