TPT Speak at Online Symposium

Last week Mandy and Hannah were invited to be a speaker at the Heritage Compass Online Symposium. This was held virtually and was targeted at organisations who had been involved in the programme over the past 12 months.

The event provided everyone with the opportunity to reflect on their experience, share key learnings and also network with other likeminded individuals.

There were different sessions held throughout the day and the TPT National Office were asked to speak and offer their experience at the ‘Contributing to Local Economies’ session held in the morning with a specific link on how our work feeds into tourism and volunteering.

Mandy and Hannah spoke about the importance of getting your strategy right, the power partnerships can have for your organisation, the importance of the visitor economy, volunteering and not being afraid to do things differently or saying no. It was fantastic to receive feedback from other organisations who found it very interesting with some attendees calling the session “inspiring”. We also received the following comment from Jo Boardman, who was our Business Mentor throughout the programme:

“Having worked with Mandy and Hannah I was amazed at their commitment to the Trail and the work they do with both limited financial and human resources. They are working within such a complex governance system and I am sure Mandy and Hannah have a few nuggets of knowledge, experience and expertise on how they manage to retain all Local Authorities, year after year, considering the current financial situation many find themselves in”.
