Lindsay Lohan is used to outfit changes. After all, she played two starring roles in the iconic 1998 The Parent Trap. So, when she says she is feeling a little indecisive about how to dress her son for Halloween, we can only imagine!
The Mean Girls star opened up about her preparations for the holiday in a new interview with PEOPLE, and it includes not one, not two, but five different costumes for her 1-year-old son Luai, who she shares with husband Bader Shammas.
“I’m still trying to decide what I want him to wear, but my problem is I always buy so many costumes,” the 38-year-old old the outlet. “And he’s still at the age where I can just make him wear five different things because I just want all those photo memories.”
Speaking as a mom of slightly older kids, do it girl! There are precious few years when you can pick the costume your child will be (my 2-and-a-half-year-old won’t let me choose for him), and you need to take advantage of that while you can. There is nothing in this world cuter than a baby in a Halloween costume, so if you have 5 or 20 different outfits, buy them all! He can wear one for actual trick-or-treating, one for a fall festival, one for pumpkin patch photos, and the rest for just spending time at the house during spooky season. Take all the pictures because you will cherish those memories forever.
In fact, Lohan isn’t the only mom whose done this for her kids. Last year, Kaley Cuoco shared several photos of her daughter Tildy (now 18 months) in different costumes, including an adorable old lady, a bumblebee and a football.
“I bought her 10 costumes and we’re going to do a fashion show,” The Big Bang Theory star told Extra at the time. “I said, Halloween for a 6-month old is for us not for her. She’s going to have to deal with the costume changes, the itchiness, the claustrophobia just for the photo and then everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.”
Paris Hilton also had multiple outfits for her son Phoenix, now 21 months, who she shares with husband Carter Reum. Phoenix wore a pilot to Hilton’s flight attendant (from Britney Spears’ “Toxic” music video) and a mushroom to Hilton’s Katy Perry outfit. “Baby P slayed his first First Halloween. ????????????❤️ #Sliving????His smile melts my heart ????Love him so much! ????????” she captioned a video on TikTok.
Lohan, who called herself “a regular cool mom” in the interview with PEOPLE, is just following a time-honored baby tradition and taking advantage of the limited-time moms have to choose our kids’ outfits. Just embrace it, girl! You don’t want to regret not dressing them up a certain way next year, plus you can always donate the extra outfits after you get your photos. It’s a win-win!
