ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Curry Patta has returned to the Capital Region with locations in both Menands and Albany. Owner Nadia Raza previously had the restaurant in Altamont before closing at the end of 2022.
Curry Patta Cafe and Catering opened in the Riverview Center at 150 Broadway in Menands at the end of May. Raza opened her second location in the State Office building at 44 Holland Avenue in Albany last week.
Both locations are cafeteria-style and the Albany space has a much larger kitchen than in Menands. With the larger kitchen, Raza hopes to ramp-up catering services.
Curry Patta serves breakfast items, sandwiches, wraps, pizza, salads, soups, Pakistani cuisine such as kebabs, channa masala, and chicken biryani, as well as specials each day. You can view the menu and specials on the Curry Patta Facebook page.
Raza was initially planning to reopen Curry Patta sooner than this in Delmar or Troy, but she was out of commission for a year battling cancer. In December 2022, Raza and her partner Joe Conklin opened Joe's Township Tavern in Knox where Raza would serve Pakistani food some nights. The tavern closed in September 2023 because of staffing issues, said Raza.
Both the Albany and Menands locations are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Raza is working on launching DoorDash for both locations as well.
