The European Union office in Kabul has announced its support for hundreds of schools across the country, ensuring a better and more educated future.
On Tuesday, October 15, the office wrote on social media platform X that “education” is the key to a prosperous Afghanistan.
The European Union stated, “Education is key for a prosperous #Afghanistan.”
The European Union chargé d’affaires in Kabul, during a visit to a primary school, emphasized the European Union’s “unwavering support for education” in Afghanistan.
The European Union office also shared the hashtag “Education for All” on social media platform X, while millions of girls across Afghanistan have been deprived of education.
Since August 2021, following the takeover by the Taliban, education for girls beyond the sixth grade has been severely restricted. This ban has left many young girls and women without access to secondary and higher education, causing widespread concern both locally and internationally.
Despite global pressure, the restrictions remain in place, deepening the educational and gender inequality in Afghanistan and limiting the future prospects of millions of Afghan girls.
