INDIE horror franchise Terrifier 3 is back on the big screen for its third instalment — and it’s so disgusting, cinema-goers have been handed sick bags.
David Howard Thornton‘s supernatural killer Art the Clown has returned alongside actress Lauren LaVera in the freaky low-budget flick.
Actress Lauren, who is trained in martial arts, is making her comeback as Sienna Shaw, a young woman who battles Art the Clown.
After surviving Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother are struggling to rebuild their shattered lives.
Fans have said the star has ‘solidified herself as a new Scream Queen icon’ in the controversial independent movie.
Distressing scenes include the slayer impersonating a mall Santa, which led to disgusted viewers walking out of cinemas.
Other fans are relishing the gross-out film and can’t get enough.
One user commented: “Took myself off to the movies. Wish me luck! I was offered a sick bag. I politely declined.”
A second added: “Who needs sick bags? Wimps!”
“Terrifier 3 is the most mean, bloodiest and arguably best instalment in the franchise yet. David Howard Thornton delivers both his scariest and funniest performance yet,” penned a third fan.
“It was everything and more I hoped for. More brutal, gorier and sicker than the previous 2. Definitely the best of the 3. Go see it,” urged another.
“I was enjoying my popcorn today while watching this movie. It was perfection of a movie,” applauded another.
“Terrifier 3 is a horror hack-slashing masterpiece in all its not rated glory! The gore was over the top and disgusting! Not in my wildest nightmares could I have conjured up this legendary trinity of a killer clown!” praised a cinema-goer.
Director Damien Leone marked the film’s success and wrote on X: “Feeling proud and grateful. I got to see Terrifier 3 in a packed theatre in Times Square last night and I seriously never experienced anything like it. The energy of the crowd was truly something to behold.”
He later announced on Instagram: “Can’t believe I’m about to announce that Terrifier 3 is now officially the #1 movie in the country.
“Truly a monumental achievement for us, especially considering we’re an indie, unrated film that was always deemed too niche or too violent for mainstream audiences.”
He continued: “Never underestimate horror fans! I’m so honoured and proud to share this moment with my cast and crew who all worked harder than you can imagine on this film. You guys are all passionate and dedicated rockstars.
“Mainly I gotta say how proud I am of my partner @pjfalcone for always believing in me and risking his neck for me… and being a damn fine actor. Love you man.”
Leone told Bloody Disgusting: “Although I was in and out of the screening, I did manage to witness some crazy stuff.
“One woman got up and left in the middle of the shower massacre.
“Another woman left the screening and said she started having a panic attack during a scene involving kids where Art impersonates a mall Santa.”
Terrifier 3 is in cinemas in the UK now.
