Not for the Cincinnati Reds, of course.
Jack Flaherty, Shohei Ohtani, and the Los Angeles Dodgers absolutely eviscerated the New York Mets last night in Game 1 of the National League Championship at Dodger Stadium, laying waste to their contra-coastal brethren to the tune of 9 to zip.
The Dodgers will turn to their bullpen for all 9 innings today in attempt to a) claim a 2-0 series lead over the Mets and b) keep their remarkable 33 inning scoreless streak alive. Ryan Brasier will do the dirty work early for them, while lefty Sean Manaea will toe the rubber for the Mets.
Back on the eastern shore of the US, the New York Yankees will begin their American League Championship quest at home in Yankee Stadium against the Cleveland Guardians. Lefty Carlos Rodon will start for New York opposite veteran righty Alex Cobb of Cleveland.
First pitch in the NLCS is set for 4:08 PM ET, while the ALCS will serve as the nightcap with a 7:38 PM ET start time. FOX will be broadcasting the NLCS, with TBS carrying the ALCS.
How many of the 2024 Cincinnati Reds do ya think will be watching live?
