WEATHER
The National Weather Service has forecast a slight chance of rain is expected on Wednesday, particularly in the North Bay, with light showers likely early in the morning.
Dalton Behringer, a meteorologist for the agency, said that rainfall amounts will be minimal, measuring just a few hundredths of an inch in most areas.
“We may be lucky to get just a few hundredths of an inch or so,” Behringer said. “It’ll be just a tease of rain.”
Beyond that, forecasters expect temperatures to reach the upper 70s to low 80s in inland parts of the region and the upper 60s along the coast, Behringer said. Offshore winds from Friday morning through the weekend could elevate fire danger across the region.
ROSS
The Town Council has rejected a challenge to a residential project at 7 Willow Hill Road.
The project involves a pool, an enclosure and other components. The town planning office approved changes to the railing and the staircase and the removal of some landscaping and a decorative wall, according to a staff report.
A neighbor filed an appeal, citing potential pool drainage issues, encroachments and code enforcement lapses. The Town Council held a hearing on Thursday and affirmed the decision of the planning staff.
CORTE MADERA
The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has named a store in Marin County as one of 12 retailers that violated new regulations on hemp products.
Agents visited 383 stores across the state on Oct. 5 and 6 to ensure employees followed the regulations that were published last month. Retailers are prohibited from selling consumable hemp products that contain THC or other intoxicating cannabinoids. The department announced it seized more than 700 illegal products from stores they investigated.
The alleged offenders included Alcos Colonial Market on Tamalpais Drive in Corte Madera, the department said. A statement by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said: “Businesses that fail to follow the law could face legal or administrative discipline, including loss of license.”
A member of the store staff declined to comment.
