Glen Powell has been on an undeniable hot streak in Hollywood in recent years with hit movies like Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You, and Twisters. For his latest project, the forthcoming Hulu series Chad Powers, Powell takes on the role of a football player. While doing some filming for the show at a college football game over the weekend, the crowd wasn't exactly pleased with the big-name actor's presence.
Video shared on social media shows the crowd booing Powell as he ran onto the field with his "teammates" during halftime at Saturday's Georgia and Mississippi State game. Interestingly, he's the only one of the players not wearing a helmet, so he clearly sticks out.
According to CinemaBlend, the negative fan reaction was all planned. The stadium announcer apparently notified the crowd that filming of a TV scene would be taking place during halftime, and booing the A-list actor and the other players alongside him was seemingly encouraged. Powell and his fellow actors stormed the field several times for different takes, and video on social media captured the bizarre situation.

Chad Powers follows a football star who's fallen from grace after earning acclaim as an accomplished quarterback. In an attempt to get back into the sport without the haunting of his past reputation, he disguises himself as Powers and joins a struggling football team. The series is packed with plenty of star power from the sport, as Eli and Peyton Manning both serve as executive producers.
It remains to be seen if the series Chad Powers is more well received than the actor at this game.
