OVER the years Nick Knowles has cemented himself a household name amongst Brits.
The DIY SOS star thrilled fans when he took part in Strictly 2024 before leaving the show in week four. Here we take a look a look at his life in the spotlight.
Nick enjoyed a stint on Strictly Come Dancing[/caption]Born on September 21, 1962, in Southall, Middlesex, Nick Knowles is a TV presenter, best known for his home improvement shows.
The popular star’s biggest show to date is DIY SOS.
Before finding TV fame, Nick tried his hand at a variety of jobs including labouring on building sites, working in a petrol station, and selling shoes and carpets.
He got his big break in the early 90s as a reporter on the news programme, Coast to Coast.
Away from TV presenting, Nick has also featured on a number of other big television programmes.
The Sun were the first to exclusively reveal how Nick had signed up to appear on Strictly.
He joined the impressive 2024 line-up when the show started in September 2024.

Speaking about his time on Strictly, Nick said: “I’ve really, really been surprised by how much I’ve loved doing it and by two things that happen.
“One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let down your partner.
“The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s been amazing.”
A tearful Luba said: “I’ve never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you’ll be very happy.
“I think you did more than your best. Thank you.”
Nick then added: “Luba’s been amazing and just been so fabulous every day.
“And I should say thank you also to all the background staff, the physios, all the people that have actually got me through this week, and to all of my fellow competitors who have been absolutely astounding, beautiful people.
“There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.”
The TV star is engaged to Katie Dadzie[/caption]Nick has been married twice, firstly to Gillian from 1995 until 2000.
The couple had two children together, daughter Tuesday and son Charlie.
His third child, known as TJ, was born after a fling with dancer Paula Beckett.
TJ’s first name is Tyrian-J and he has 13 middle names.
Nick’s youngest son Eddie was born in 2014 during his marriage to Jessica Rose Moor, who he wed in 2012.
The couple split in 2016.
Nick is now engaged to his fiancee Katie Dadzie, who has been with since 2019.
DIY SOS has to be Nick’s biggest show to date, and is the series he’s most famous for.
He started hosting the show in 1999, and has been on it ever since.
The show changed it’s name slightly in 2010 to DIY SOS: The Big Build.
The heartwarming series sees Nick and his team recruit friends, family and local trades people to help transform the homes of families across Britain.
In 2023, Nick teamed up pro dancers Katya Jones and Luba Mushtuk, for a Strictly special of DIY SOS.
At one point, Nick was also a gameshow host and had his own Saturday night primetime series.
Who Dares Wins ran on BBC One every weekend from 2007 until 2019.
The quiz saw two teams of complete strangers compete by completing a series of lists in order to scoop a cash prize.
Since 2021, Nick has hosted the Big House Clearout on Channel 5.
The show sees the TV star and his team help people across Britain de-clutter their homes by taking all of their belongings and assembling them in a warehouse to be sorted.
While this is happening a building team go into the family’s house to make improvements.
In 2018, Nick swapped DIY for an Australian jungle to take part in the 18th series of I’m A Celebrity.
But he did not go all the way, becoming the sixth celeb to be eliminated – lasting until Day 19.
Nick is also a regular on the annual telethon, Children In Need.
