PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A power outage caused by a crow left thousands in Southeast Portland without power Sunday morning.
According to Portland General Electric, calls started coming in at around 8:45 a.m. reporting widespread outages. At one point, their site showed over 8,000 people without power.
However, at 10:15 a.m., there were only over 1,700 customers affected, the site says.
The utility company said the outage was due to "an equipment issue at one of their substations" in the area caused by the crow.
As a result, crews were required to de-energize the substation.
PGE estimated power would be restored at around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. But as of 12:55 p.m., there are still 1,278 customers without service.
