The Welsh media are delighted with one aspect of Brennan Johnson’s game at the moment after the Tottenham man found the scoresheet yet again on Friday.
Johnson is now in the form of his life, with his latest strike for Wales against Iceland being the seventh match in a row where he has found the scoresheet.
The attacker looks like a completely different player from what we saw in the first few games of the season, with confidence now flowing through his veins.
However, he was withdrawn at half-time in Wales’ 2-2 draw against Iceland, with journalist Dafydd Pritchard revealing that Craig Bellamy later confirmed it was done as a ‘precaution’.
The Welsh media are delighted to see the Tottenham man now playing with plenty of confidence and expressing himself on the pitch.
Wales Online gave the 23-year-old a rating of 7 out of 10 rating and wrote: “In the right place at the right time for his goal. However, he picked up a rather silly booking that will rule him out of Monday’s clash with Montenegro.”
Clwb Peldroed also gave Johnson the same rating and added: “Johnson continued his fine form in front of goal as he made it seven in seven. You can see he’s playing with real confidence at the moment and it’s great to see it shine through in a Wales shirt.”
Those at Tottenham will be concerned by the fact that Johnson came off at half-time, although Bellamy’s words will give them hope that it is not anything serious.
However, Ange Postecoglou and co will be delighted that the wide-man will play no further part in the international break following his suspension.
