AN INTERIOR designer has revealed the five ‘tragic’ mistakes many people make in their homes.
So if you want your home to impress your guests and look chic, then you’ve come to the right place and will need to listen up and take notes.
Loren Kreiss, an Interior and Furniture Designer from the US, revealed the “five most offensive design choices to have in your home”, sharing his thoughts on all things from white kitchen cabinets to man caves.
Not only this, but the CEO and Creative Director of Kreiss, a luxury furniture company, also explained why he isn’t a fan of recliner sofas or decorative signs.
Posting on social media, Loren shared his weekly ‘designer diss track’, as he said: “These five mistakes have all punched their way into the design hall of shame, but there can be only one biggest loser.”
If your husband is begging you for a man cave, you’ll need to let him know Loren’s thoughts, as the pro claimed: “News flash, no one gives a s**t about your man cave.
According to Loren, man caves are “tragic”[/caption]“It’s giving tragic. You should be ashamed.”
And if you were thinking of giving your kitchen a makeover, pay attention to the interior pro’s advice.
He also can’t stand white kitchen cabinets[/caption]He continued: “This 2010s design fad has aged poorly and is the builder beige of today.”
Whilst leopard print is super on trend when it comes to clothing this season, according to Loren, it’s got to go in homes.
Loren described leopard print decor as “illegal”[/caption]He shuddered: “Oh, the horror! It should be illegal to still have animal prints in your home.”
As well as this, the interior expert shared his honest thoughts on recliner sofas.
He also thinks recliner sofas are an “abomination”[/caption]He simply stated: “They’re an absolute abomination.”
IF you want to ensure that your home looks glam, here are the trends that interior designers can't stand.
NO YELLOW: According to Bilal Rehman, yellow paint in a bedroom is a big no no.
He said: “If you want everyone to know you’re a horse girl then yellow is perfect for you.”
SIGN OFF: Kelly Hoppen shared her honest thoughts on Live, Love, Laugh signs.
The interior pro explained: “Another gripe of mine – Live, Laugh, Love – those kinds of wooden things that sit on book shelves and floating shelves, that’s so 10, 12, 15 years ago.”
NO GREY YAY: Julie Provenzano explained that grey interiors have been overdone.
She stressed: “We took a good thing and we overdid it to the point that it now feels copy, paste, basic.”
Finally, if you’re someone who has a ‘Live, Love, Laugh’ sign in their home, prepare to be attacked.
According to this design pro, interior signs need to go in the bin[/caption]The content creator concluded: “If you have these in your home, spell T R A S H and do just that. You’re welcome in advance.”
