Broadway dancer Zelig Williams, who has performed in hit shows like Hamilton and MJ: The Musical, has been missing for over a week, and now the search is getting some extra eyes on it thanks to a big-name former collaborator: Hugh Jackman.
Williams worked as a dancer on Jackman's 2019 tour "The Man. The Music. The Show." In recent weeks, he'd been promoting a workshop at Palmetto Performing Arts in Columbia, South Carolina where he'd be teaching aspiring actors how to audition for a Broadway show. According to WNBC and the Richmond County Sheriff's Department, he was last seen on Oct. 3 driving in the area of Congaree National Park.
Williams' aunt Mieoki Corbett-Jacobs has been asking for anyone with any information to contact authorities. "He went on to Broadway to perform in some very large shows and recently moved back home to share his experiences and help others," she explained to WACH. "Any news you hear is big news. Even the littlest detail can be a big help in finding him."
On Oct. 10, Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman helped spread the word to his more than 34 million Instagram followers. "Please, if anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of Zelig Williams please reach out to your local authorities," the 55-year-old actor wrote. "Zelig, we love you and are praying for your safe return. Please pass this message on!!!"
The search for the stage actor is ongoing, according to Richmond County Sheriff Leon Lott. "We’ve searched on foot in the air of various locations,” Lott said, per WIS. "Other investigative techniques that we will use [involve] cell phones and some other things that I don’t want to discuss at this point."
Williams just turned 28 last month. If you have any information that could help, contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Department.
