The Pakistan team batted quite well in the first innings of the Test match against England in Multan. Centuries from Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha carried the Men in Green over the 500-run mark. However, a triple century from Harry Brook and a double century from Joe Root would see England post 823/7. In reply, Pakistan would be bowled out for 220 and thus, would slump to a defeat by an innings and 47 runs.
Brilliant centuries from Paul Stirling and Curtis Campher and a great knock of 95 from Andy Balbirnie would carry Ireland to a massive total in the first innings in Galle. However, in reply Sri Lanka would post 704/3 before declaring. This total would prove to be too much for the visitors who got bowled out for 202 in their second innings and lost the match by an innings and 10 runs.
A fantastic century from Moeen Ali along with half-centuries from Joe Root, Liam Dawson and Adil Rashid guided England over the 400-run mark against India in Chennai. However, India would give back quite a strong reply through Karun Nair’s triple hundred which would help India finish on 759/7. Then, the visitors would be bowled out for 207 runs as India won the match by an innings and 75 runs.
Riding on centuries from Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and MS Dhoni, India would go on to post a mammoth total of 631/7 before declaring in Kolkata. In reply, West Indies would get dismissed for only 151 runs which would see the hosts enforce follow-on. The Windies would then post 463 thanks to a century from Darren Bravo, however it wasn’t enough as India went on to win by an innings and 15 runs.
After India got bundled out for only 136 runs in the first innings, South Africa would go on to post a mammoth total of 620/4 before declaring in Centurion. Jacques Kallis scored a double century while Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers also scored tons to carry the hosts to the total. In reply, a ton from Sachin Tendulkar and a 90 from MS Dhoni would see India post 459 but it wouldn’t be enough as the Proteas would cruise to an innings and 25-run victory.
