Hezbollah missile strikes on Northern Israel injure at least 10

Israeli security officials announced on Monday morning that Hezbollah in Lebanon had launched missile attacks on northern Israel, including Haifa, the country’s third-largest city. Local media reported that at least 10 people were injured in these attacks.

Hezbollah also confirmed on Monday, October 7, that it had targeted an Israeli military base south of Haifa with “Fadi 1” missiles.

Local media reported that two Hezbollah missiles hit the city of Haifa, while five more struck the city of Tiberias, located 65 kilometers from Haifa.

In response, the Israeli military stated that on Sunday night, it carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in Beirut, as well as the group’s weapons storage facilities.

Since October 2023, tensions in the Middle East have escalated significantly, with over 42,000 Palestinians, including women and children, killed and more than two million people displaced. The violence has created a severe humanitarian crisis in the region.

Meanwhile, Israel and Iran have both intensified their rhetoric and actions, further fueling tensions. Iran’s support for Hezbollah and other militant groups has heightened concerns of a broader conflict.

The escalation of hostilities between Israel and neighboring groups, including Hezbollah, has drawn international attention, raising fears of a wider war in the Middle East. Diplomatic efforts to broker peace remain crucial, but the increasing military engagements complicate the path to de-escalation.
