Rally in France demands recognition of ‘Hazara Genocide’ in Afghanistan
A group of Afghans residing in France held a protest on Saturday in the city of Toulouse, condemning the killing of 14 civilians in Daikundi.
The protesters called on the international community to officially recognize the ‘genocide of Hazaras’ in Afghanistan.
The protest, attended by hundreds of Afghan migrants in Toulouse, included representatives from Amnesty International, a city mayor’s representative, civil activists, and journalists, all gathering in response to the killing of 14 Hazara civilians in Daikundi.
In a resolution, the protesters highlighted the massacre of the 14 civilians and reminded the audience that since 2002, the Hazara community has suffered nearly 300 attacks.
The protesters also emphasized the urgent need for immediate action to protect Hazara women and girls.
The killing of Hazara civilians in Daikundi sparked widespread reactions, with ISIS claiming responsibility for the attack.
This protest adds to the growing international calls for justice as the Hazara community continues to face targeted violence in Afghanistan. Protesters urged global human rights organizations to step in and help prevent further atrocities.
The situation in Daikundi remains tense, with ongoing fears for the safety of Hazara civilians as activists continue to call for more robust protective measures for marginalized communities in Afghanistan.
